Area of 'Emergency Situations Airport' to Be Transferred to the Ministry of Defense

The 'Emergency Situations Airport' closed joint-stock company in the Lori province will be removed from the list of state property privatization programs for 2017-2020. The relevant draft was presented at a session of the National Assembly by Arnak Avetisyan, Chairman of the State Property Management Committee.

“The company is located in the Lori province and has not conducted flights for many years; it is not operational. Its property consists of 61.7 hectares of land, with most of the airport buildings completely demolished. The basis for the project's acceptance was the Government's decision on July 13, 2023, which separated the company's property and transferred it to the Ministry of Defense for the purpose of implementing certain programs in the defense sector. We are essentially dealing with an organization that has no assets or property, and we propose to remove it from the privatization program. It is likely that a decision on dissolution will be made later,” noted Avetisyan.
