7 Deaths in Two Car Accidents in Just One Day: Gor Abrahamyan
The spokesperson of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan, made a Facebook post stating, "7 deaths in just one day due to two car accidents. It seems that calling for sobriety has become a hopeless endeavor..." A criminal case has been initiated regarding the car accident on the Yerevan-Ararat road that claimed the lives of three individuals.
On March 19, 2024, at approximately 12:50 PM, a collision occurred between a Lexus car driven by a 34-year-old resident of the Ararat region and a VAZ 21723 vehicle driven by another 34-year-old resident of the same region on the 23rd km of the Yerevan-Ararat road. As a result, both drivers suffered injuries and were hospitalized at the Erebuni Medical Center, while three passengers of the VAZ 21723, aged 39, 35, and 38, died at the scene due to their injuries.
A criminal case was launched the same day at the Vagharshapat investigative division of the Ararat regional investigative department under part 3 of Article 342 of the RA Criminal Code. Inspections of the scene and the vehicles involved have been conducted. Forensic medical examinations and examinations of the bodies have been appointed. Measures are being taken to determine the causes of the accident, and the Police have also been tasked with this investigation. The health condition of the injured drivers is assessed as serious.
