It Is Absurd: Dmitry Peskov

The official representative of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, has called the calls for non-recognition of the presidential election results in Russia "absurd." According to Peskov, the opposition figures urging Western countries not to recognize the legitimacy of the elections are suggesting that the overwhelming majority of the Russian population's votes are illegitimate.

"It is absurd. We regard it that way," he emphasized. Earlier, Peskov described the statements from the United States about the dishonesty of the Russian presidential elections as predictable.

Recall that the voting for the presidential elections took place in Russia from March 15 to 17, including in remote formats. For the first time since 2008, four candidates competed for the position of president: Vladislav Davankov, Vladimir Putin (as a self-nominated), Leonid Slutskin, and Nikolay Kharitonov. After counting 99.74% of the votes, Putin collected 87.29% of the votes, Kharitonov received 4.30%, Davankov got 3.84%, and Slutskin secured 3.21%.
