Israel to Allow Evacuation for Residents of Rafah
Israel will allow peaceful residents of Rafah, located at the border with Egypt in the Gaza Strip, to evacuate before the Israeli military begins operations against the armed wing of the Palestinian militant group Hamas. This announcement was made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who arrived on an official visit to Israel, as reported by TASS.
“I assured Chancellor Scholz that our goal to eliminate the remaining terrorist units in Rafah involves providing the civilian population the chance to leave Rafah. We will not conduct military operations while keeping the population trapped in this location. We will do exactly the opposite. We will allow them to leave, as we are guided by our desire to minimize civilian casualties, and we will continue to be guided by this in the future,” Netanyahu stated.
