VIDEO: Illegal drug trafficking case uncovered. A 34-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman arrested
The Criminal Police's Drug Trafficking Division received operational information that a 34-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman from Yerevan were engaged in illegal drug sales through the Telegram application.
The information was confirmed and acted upon on March 13. Officers from the division, in collaboration with partners from the Central Police Department, located them on Vardanants Street in the capital at around 12:30 PM. At the time of his arrest, the man attempted to flee, but it was a short-lived escape.
During a personal search of the man in the Central Department, a polyethylene bag was found containing 10 packages of a blue and red tape, resembling methamphetamine, with a total weight of 9.18 grams. A package with about one gram of a similar substance and a hidden blade were also discovered.
The woman’s search yielded even more impressive results: she had 114 packages of methamphetamine-type substances with different colored tapes, weighing approximately 93 grams in total, along with another polyethylene bag weighing around 127 grams, and a further bag exceeding 4 grams. Additionally, 193 packages with a zip closure were found, totaling about 50 grams, two grinders with greenish residue, an electronic scale with similar residue, two containers, two coffee bags, empty bags, and tape.
Both individuals have been arrested, and the circumstances are being clarified in the ongoing investigation.
