Court Claims Filed Against Former Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan in Detention
According to the newspaper "Zhoghovurd," while former Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan is in detention, court claims are being filed against him. Notably, the newspaper learned that on March 11, a claim was submitted to the Administrative Court of the Republic of Armenia against Vahan Kerobyan by Lilit Hakobyan, demanding that order number 244-K dated February 8, 2024, be declared invalid.
It should be noted that Vahan Kerobyan, the now-former Minister of Economy, has faced charges in a criminal case related to "Synergy" and is currently under house arrest. He has been under house arrest since February 16, indicating that prior to this, on February 8, he issued a decision against which a citizen has lodged a complaint.
The issue pertains to ongoing criminal proceedings against eight individuals for apparent abuses during the procurement competition for the needs of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. In particular, several officials from the Ministry of Economy, under the direction of their supervisory officials, held meetings and phone conversations with representatives of Company "S" during the competition, discussing the competition conditions with them and even providing them with documents submitted to the commission by the competitor fund "H." This enabled the modification of the competition conditions, allowing the documents submitted by this fund to be deemed non-compliant, consequently disqualifying it from the competition.
The accused in this criminal case include Ani Gevorgyan, the sister-in-law of National Assembly President Alen Simonian, director of “Synergy” company Ashot Hovhannisyan, and others.
