Citizen Visiting Prison Attempted to Smuggle Package with Drugs

Employees of the operational department of the Central Body of the Ministry of Justice's Penitentiary Service in the Armavir region received operational information indicating that a citizen visiting one of the incarcerated individuals was attempting to smuggle a package containing drugs.

Acting on the information received, on March 12, immediately after the brief visit, officers discovered a package wrapped in adhesive tape near the incarcerated individual G.G. The package contained substances resembling heroin weighing 4.19 grams and another solid mass weighing 19.28 grams that appeared to be a drug.

The incarcerated individual G.G. confessed that the package was handed to him during the brief visit by the citizen K.G. The latter has been arrested by the operational officers and has been presented along with the package to the Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
