Are there houses being built in the border areas of Tavush Province? Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the regional governor

As of today, we have 606 confirmed transactions in border settlements. I would also like to mention that the eligibility status of 7 families forcibly displaced from Artsakh has been confirmed, meaning their citizenship status has been adjusted accordingly. They are mainly families with children, and they will build their homes soon. This was stated by Davit Khachatryan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, during the government session on March 14.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that these are the first beneficiaries displaced from Artsakh, and that this fact deserves recognition. “I am happy that already 7 families have been confirmed in the program. This means they have a plot of land in a border village, and they have either received or will confidently receive the funds or start the construction,” Pashinyan asked. Davit Khachatryan clarified that they have a construction permit, preliminary budget, and soon the process of signing the contract will start.

Pashinyan inquired about whether there are houses being built under the program in the border areas of Tavush Province. Governor Hayk Ghahramanyan presented the February data. Accordingly, approximately 250 loans have been approved by commercial banks in Tavush Province, with 13 in Kiran, 16 in Berkaber, 3 in Voskevan, and 1 in Baghanis. There are already houses where interior finishing works are being carried out, and soon people will move in.

Pashinyan emphasized that this is an important program and it is good that the process has started. He also expressed confidence that it will bring positive economic effects to the provinces and to Armenia in general. According to Nikol Pashinyan, the process is going very well: “These numbers in some way indicate how much people believe in the peace agenda. This is important and we should encourage especially in those regions for people to be more active, and for these processes to take place with our support,” the Prime Minister stated.

Davit Khachatryan added that around 250 contracts have already been signed, and there are 355 approvals. This means that in the coming days or within a month, about 100 new contracts will be added only in Tavush Province.
