Foreign Ministry Responds on Duration of Visa Liberalization Process Between Armenia and EU

There is no separate resolution and/or discussion planned regarding the liberalization of visas for Armenia-EU travel. This was announced by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to a written inquiry from Sputnik Armenia regarding when Armenian citizens will eventually be able to travel to EU countries without a visa and the current stage of the process.

Since the start of the dialogue on visa liberalization between Armenia and the EU, the negotiations have been a long-term process, with the final outcome dependent on the consensus agreement of all EU member states. Armenian citizens will only have the opportunity to travel to EU countries without the requirement of a visa after the liberalization of the visa regime.

The Armenian side continues to make persistent efforts to keep key issues for Armenia at the forefront of the European Parliament and other EU institutions, including facilitating targeted discussions around these key issues in various formats, as well as the development and adoption of relevant resolutions and statements.
