X Social Network Owned by Elon Musk Plans to Launch SmartTV App

The American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk's X social network is planning to launch an app for SmartTVs next week, which will function similarly to the YouTube application. This has been reported by Fortune magazine, citing sources.

"In an effort to compete with YouTube and re-establish itself as a video platform, Elon Musk's X company is releasing a television app for Amazon and Samsung SmartTVs. The company aims to launch the app next week. It appears to be 'identical' to the YouTube TV app," the website states.

Musk has mentioned on the X social network that the company seeks to provide users with the ability to watch long-form videos on the big screen.

The launch of the television app will be another step in Musk's plan to attract more advertisers and prominent bloggers to X.
