The Issue of Releasing 4 Enclave Villages Occupied by Armenia Will Be Resolved: Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister's Office
The joint commissions for the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border have held 7 meetings to date. During this phase, work is being carried out to create a legal framework necessary for implementing border demarcation activities. This was reported by the press service of the office of Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
In the statement, it is noted that “the Republic of Azerbaijan does not accept the recent information circulated by governmental sources in Armenian media that lands belonging to 31 villages in Armenia are under Azerbaijani occupation.”
“The Republic of Azerbaijan, not recognizing that, demands the release of its 4 occupied villages. In this regard, the Azerbaijani side finds it necessary to emphasize that before the state border demarcation is carried out, it is entirely unjustifiable to claim that the lands belonging to 31 villages in Armenia are occupied. As for the 4 Azerbaijani villages occupied by Armenia, their belonging to Azerbaijan is indisputable, and they are subject to immediate liberation. The issue of releasing the 4 enclave villages occupied by Armenia will also be resolved within the framework of the demarcation process,” the commentary states.
