The Cost of Gaza Strip Reconstruction is Revealed
The reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which has been damaged as a result of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) military operation, will require more than $90 billion. This opinion was expressed by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. His statement was quoted by TASS.
“It will take more than $90 billion to restore the area,” stated the Egyptian leader. He noted that the Gaza Strip is currently witnessing a great tragedy, with thousands of lives lost.
On March 4, it was reported that the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries were ready to allocate an additional $1.6 billion for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
On March 7, U.S. President Joe Biden announced the creation of a port in the enclave to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid by sea in a message to Congress. Following that, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that the EU, the U.S., and the UAE have agreed on the opening of a maritime corridor. It is expected that the route will be available by March 10.
