Export of Flowers from Armenia to Russia Doubles
Since the beginning of the year, over 20.5 million flowers have been exported from Armenia to Russia. The information is reported by the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor.
During the same period in 2023, more than 11 million flowers were exported from Armenia to Russia. The most exported flowers were poppies, accounting for 15.7 million units, followed by roses with 4.3 million units. This year, 211,000 alstroemerias, 88,000 gerberas, 2,000 chrysanthemums, and 1,500 daffodils have also been imported.
It is noted that compared to the same period in 2023, nearly 5.5 million poppies were exported from Armenia to Russia (almost three times less than in 2024), as well as 3.1 million roses (about 1.3 times less), and others.
Rosselkhoznadzor also reports that during the same period, 487.4 thousand carnations were exported from Turkey to Russia, and 200 thousand mimosa branches from Georgia. No flowers have been imported from other countries through the Upper Lars checkpoint.
