In Yerevan, Instead of Amendments to the Local Self-Governance Law, a New Law is Being Proposed: Avinyan

The Yerevan City Hall has introduced a draft of a new law on local self-governance in Yerevan. This was reported during the operational consultation of the Yerevan City Hall. Mayor Tigran Avinyan emphasized that the new draft law addresses all areas.

“The draft addresses almost all issues identified during the previous period, and there are certain solutions. After the adoption of this law, the Yerevan Council has a significant amount of work ahead. I believe it is time to discuss and examine the decisions to be made by the Council with its factions. I think we should move forward as quickly as possible and also ensure communication with our partners in the government,” said Avinyan.

The mayor instructed Yerevan’s Deputy Mayorarmen Pambukhchyan to organize all possible discussions as quickly as possible to expedite the process of adopting the draft law.
