Azerbaijani Soldier Fleeing and Losing His Way: RA Investigative Committee Halts Criminal Prosecution
The public criminal prosecution against an Azerbaijani Armed Forces soldier has been suspended, according to the RA Investigative Committee.
As a result of numerous urgent evidential actions conducted by the Main Investigation Department for crimes against state security, constitutional order, and public safety, factual data have been obtained regarding an Azerbaijani soldier, Ruslan Eldanıs-Oğlu Penakhov, who crossed the state border of the Republic of Armenia. On February 28, 2024, he found himself near the positions of the RA Armed Forces following an incident between Azerbaijani soldiers, after fleeing and losing his way.
In light of this, a motion has been submitted to the supervising prosecutor to terminate the criminal prosecution against Ruslan Penakhov, which has been granted.
