Azerbaijani Soldier Fled and Got Lost; Public Criminal Prosecution Against Him Canceled by RA Investigative Committee
The public criminal prosecution against an Azerbaijani Armed Forces soldier has been discontinued. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
As part of the criminal proceedings conducted by the Main Investigation Department for Crimes Against State Fundamentals, Constitutional Order, and Public Security, numerous urgent evidentiary actions were carried out, leading to the acquisition of factual data indicating that an Azerbaijani Armed Forces soldier, Ruslan Eldanis-Oghlu Penakhov, crossed the State Border of Armenia on February 28, 2024, and ended up near the positions of the RA Armed Forces as a result of fleeing and getting lost due to an incident that occurred among Azerbaijani servicemen.
Based on the above, a motion was submitted to the supervising prosecutor to terminate the criminal prosecution initiated against Ruslan Penakhov, which was granted.
