Israeli Army Launches Operations in West Bank Along Jordan River
The Israeli Defense Forces are conducting operations against Palestinian communities on the western bank of the Jordan River. This was reported by Qatari Al Jazeera.
According to the report, Israeli troops are particularly attacking the Qalandia refugee camp located north of Jerusalem, and are also advancing in Jenin and the nearby town of Jabaa.
Intense clashes and gunfire have been reported in Qalandia, where Israeli forces fired on a vehicle transporting civilians, resulting in multiple casualties.
According to the Iranian Tasnim agency, the Israeli Defense Forces have struck residential buildings in the Al-Bureij refugee camp, which is situated in the central part of the Palestinian enclave. As a result of this operation, at least four people have been reported killed.
The situation in the Middle East deteriorated sharply after the Palestinian radical movement Hamas infiltrated into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, leading to the killing of residents in border communities and the taking of hostages.
In response, Israel announced a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip and began striking certain areas in Lebanon and Syria, followed by a ground operation in the enclave. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
