VIDEO: Signed Documents Will Provide New Basis for Cooperation Agenda in the Sector - Papikyan

Today, two documents were signed at the RA Ministry of Defense administrative complex. One of the documents was signed by the ministers of defense of Armenia and France, while the other was signed by Deputy Minister of Defense Karen Brutyan and a representative of a French company.

During a joint press conference at the Ministry of Defense administrative complex, Armenian Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan stated that the visit of the French Minister of Armed Forces is clear evidence that, although it has not yet been two years since the practical phase of military cooperation between Armenia and France began, it already has a systemic and far-reaching nature thanks to their joint efforts.

He noted that just moments ago, they concluded their latest practical and substantive discussions with his French counterpart. “Our cooperation agenda covers almost all areas of the armed forces' activities, and I must especially emphasize the comprehensive advisory support in the direction of defense reforms, the military education sector, the rapidly developing field of training exercises, and, of course, the modernization of the armed forces and the direction of developing military-technical cooperation,” Papikyan said.

He mentioned that the signed documents will provide a new basis for the cooperation agenda in the sector. The minister emphasized that bilateral cooperation is developing in more than ten directions.

French Minister of Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu noted that his visit and that of the delegation further highlights the importance of Armenia to France.
