Video: Salmonella Cases in Yerevan - SSTC Representative Reports No Extraordinary Incidents
Last week, the Julis restaurant on Pushkin Street in Yerevan was under discussion due to a recorded case of salmonella. On February 8, the State Service for Food Safety (SSFS) received a notification from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health regarding two individuals who were transferred to the ‘Mikayelyan Institute of Surgery’ for preliminary diagnosis of acute intestinal infection. In the following days, 10 more individuals who had eaten at this public catering establishment sought medical attention, with 9 of them being hospitalized. Salmonella was detected in 9 out of the 12 patients.
The SSFS only suspended the restaurant's operations 9 days later. During a regular regulatory session of the City Hall today, the SSTC representative reported to Mayor Tigran Avinyan that there had been no extraordinary incidents last week.
