US Army Allocates Funds for Supporting Ukraine, According to CNN
The US Army is allocating funds from its own budget to support Ukraine, as reported by CNN. Over the past few months, the Army has had to cover hundreds of millions of dollars in bills for supporting Ukraine's armed forces, amidst uncertain prospects for funding in Congress.
CNN cites concerns within the Army that without new financing, it may have to conserve funds from other critical projects to continue support for Kyiv.
Since October 2023, the start of the fiscal year, the Army has spent more than $430 million on various operations, including training Ukrainian troops, transporting equipment, and relocating American troops to Europe. These expenses have been covered by the US command in Europe and Africa.
“Essentially, we are doing this at the expense of Army resources,” a senior military official told the media.
