The Situation on the Battlefield Will Resolve in Three Months: Borrell
The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, has stated that the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine will be resolved in three months. The diplomat promised to increase financial and military support for Kyiv. This information is reported by TASS.
“The situation on the battlefield will be resolved in three months. We need to become faster, more decisive; we are living in a wartime situation,” said Borrell. According to him, Western countries can no longer say, “let’s wait for the European elections” or “we want to know more details.”
He also called for providing more assistance to Ukraine. Meanwhile, European Parliament member Thierry Mariani stated that a new tranche of 3 billion euros from France to Ukraine under a cooperation agreement between the two countries is madness.
Mariani pointed out that two weeks ago, Macron insisted with other EU leaders to deliver 50 billion euros in aid to Ukraine. The parliamentarian added that in the French political system, the president has broad powers, and Macron did not require parliamentary approval to make the decision. He emphasized that legality does not always equate to legitimacy. The parliamentarian urged French authorities to exercise caution and prudence in spending due to the massive debt exceeding 3 trillion euros.
