Shoigu Reports to Putin on the Capture of Avdiivka

The head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergey Shoigu, has reported to Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the complete capture of the town of Avdiivka in the Donetsk People's Republic by the Central Group of Forces. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry noted that the operation was carried out under the command of General-Colonel Andrey Mordvichev. It emphasized that Avdiivka was a significant defensive stronghold for the Ukrainian armed forces.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrskiy, had announced the withdrawal of units from Avdiivka.
