VIDEO: Language Conflict Turns Into Gunfire - What We Know About Accident Involving Armenian in Moscow

An MMA fighter from Chechnya, Rasul Ochaev, was injured in a shooting that took place in downtown Moscow on Plyushchikha Street. This was reported to TASS by law enforcement sources.

“The MMA fighter Rasul Ochaev was injured as a result of the gunfire. He was a passenger in a Lexus that collided with a Mercedes Gelandewagen while in motion,” said an agency source, adding that Emilia Sargsyan, the daughter of the honorary president of the DNR Boxing Federation, was in the Mercedes.

According to media reports, a bullet remained lodged in the young man's thigh, necessitating urgent surgery. A conflict arose after the accident. In support of Sargsyan, two individuals arrived at the scene in a Toyota Land Cruiser, including armed bodyguards of her father. Consequently, a gunfight ensued.

“The language conflict escalated into gunfire, during which the fighter and two other men were injured,” the agency source stated. Three individuals, including Sargsyan, have been taken to the police station for questioning.

According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the conflict occurred between four citizens while formalizing a minor traffic incident. Both parties used their traumatic weapons, causing injuries to one another. Three people have been hospitalized.

The press service of the Investigative Committee of Moscow reported that one person has been arrested under Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism), which carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison. As a result of the road conflict, three people, including Ochaev and two bodyguards of Armen Sargsyan, were injured. All of them are in the hospital.
