VIDEO: Carlson Shows How Russians Live Under Sanctions

Edita

American journalist Tucker Carlson, who visited Moscow to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin, evaluated the dishes from the fast-food restaurant "Vkusno – i tochka" (the former McDonald's). He shared his impressions in a video available on his website.

Carlson confessed that he was curious about how sanctions affected the quality of Western products in Russia. At one of the chain's locations, he ordered a cheeseburger, a large portion of fries, a large glass of cola, and a chocolate cake. "Well, that's excellent," praised the journalist about the fries from "Vkusno – i tochka." Carlson also highly appreciated the cheeseburger. Although he did not taste the chocolate cake in the video, he noted that it smelled very pleasant.

"Here’s how much it costs in Moscow – 647 rubles. That's exactly 7 dollars. I just couldn't resist," he added.

"I'm not saying one is better than the other. I’m just trying to convey: if [U.S. Secretary of State] Antony Blinken wipes your country off the map of the civilized world, how do you live under sanctions? Not bad," Carlson concluded.

The American journalist also visited the Russian "Ashan." He noted that food had cost him four times less over the course of a week compared to prices in the U.S., admitting that this frustrated him.
