The Arrest of the Director of Sinergy is Illegal, Lawyers Say

The detention of Ashot Hovhannisyan, the founder and director of the "Sinergy" company, is illegal and discriminatory. This statement was made by the lawyers representing the company, who noted that they have submitted a petition to the court to change Hovhannisyan's measure of restraint.

"In the context of this baseless case, our top priority now is to change Ashot Hovhannisyan's detention. The essence of this alleged crime lies in a public official at the Ministry of Economy allegedly abusing their powers, whereas our clients are accused of prompting and assisting in that abuse. Currently, none of the defendants are detained, except for the company's 71-year-old leader. This means that the actions of the law enforcement system are both illegal and discriminatory," stated lawyer Gor Ohanyan.

"Not every large or small number combination indicates a crime. We will definitely address both the procedures for determining purchase criteria and pricing, as well as the rules for conducting competitions, their resulting consequences, and prove that there is no prosecutable offense here. Although it will be complex to present everything in one simple sentence, we will do everything to ensure that no questions remain unanswered for the public. Meanwhile, it is necessary to change the measure of restraint for this distinguished and elderly individual who has found himself in an illegal and discriminatory situation as soon as possible," lawyer Erik Aleksanyan remarked.
