Son Inflicts Bodily Harm on 75-Year-Old Parents; Father Dies
On February 12, the operational management center of the Police Department of Lori Province received a report that on February 10, 75-year-old Samvel Vardumyan, a resident of Alaverdi, had passed away suddenly in his home in the presence of relatives.
During the investigation into the circumstances of the incident, community police from the Tumanyan division were informed by the Lori regional forensic examination department that bodily injuries had been discovered on the body during the preliminary examination, which were determined to be the cause of death.
As a result of joint operational-investigative and investigative activities conducted by the Lori Provincial Police Department, the Tumanyan division, and the Tumanyan investigative division, it was revealed that the bodily harm to Samvel Vardumyan was inflicted by his 44-year-old son, who resides at the same address. He was located, arrested, and taken to the Tumanyan Police Department.
Further operational-investigative and investigative measures clarified that prior to inflicting injuries that led to his father's death, the 44-year-old man, in an intoxicated and aggressive state, had quarreled with his 75-year-old mother, delivering numerous blows to her head and eye areas. The 75-year-old woman was summoned to the Tumanyan division, where she confirmed these circumstances, and noticeable bruises were evidently seen on her eyelid areas. The relevant documents have been forwarded to the Tumanyan investigative division.
