Israel Wants to Evacuate Gaza's Population, Where to, Toward Lusi? Borrell
The authorities of countries supporting Israel must stop pleading with it to cease the killing of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and start taking measures, such as limiting arms supplies to Israel. This was stated by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, during a press conference held in Brussels, according to TASS.
“Everyone goes to Tel Aviv and begs them not to kill so many people. How many fatalities are too many, what are the criteria? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not listen to anyone. They want to evacuate the population of Gaza. Where to, toward Lusi?” Borrell said.
“Please stop talking and do something,” he added.
According to the EU's chief diplomat, it is necessary to limit arms supplies to Israel. “How many times have you heard from ministers that many people have been killed? If you think that many people have been killed, then perhaps less arms should be given so that there are fewer casualties,” Borrell posed a rhetorical question.
The situation in the Middle East has sharply deteriorated since Palestinian radical Hamas militants infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, which was accompanied by the killing of residents of border towns and the capture of over 240 individuals. The radicals described this attack as a response to the actions of Israeli authorities against Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque. Israel announced a complete blockade of Gaza, after which it began a ground operation in the enclave. Clashes are also occurring in the West Bank.
