On February 12, during trading sessions, the price of Bitcoin surpassed the $50,000 mark for the first time since 2021, according to RBC, citing data from the Binance exchange. At the time of writing this news, Bitcoin's price had decreased to $49,900, as reported by Meduza.

As the publication reminds, Bitcoin's exchange rate peaked this year on January 11, when the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved the launch of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that invest directly in Bitcoin. At that time, Bitcoin was valued at $48,900.

The historical peak for the cryptocurrency was reached in October 2021, when Bitcoin's value exceeded $66,000.
