Response from the Ministry of Internal Affairs Regarding the Incident Involving a Horse and a Pony on Isakov Avenue
Armenia's National Assembly member Aregnaz Manukyan has made a statement: “In response to your request during the discussion I organized on January 26 at the National Assembly of Armenia, I promised that I would follow up and, on January 24, address the police regarding the incident involving a horse and a pony on Admiral Isakov Avenue in Yerevan. Below, I present the response I received from the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vahe Ghazaryan:
“Dear Ms. Manukyan, I am writing in response to your inquiry dated January 29, 2024, number 098/488-2024. Regarding the incident involving a horse and a pony reported on January 24, 2024, on Admiral Isakov Avenue in Yerevan, checks conducted by the relevant territorial division of the police have not substantiated any facts of a traffic accident involving the pony being hit. At the same time, during the investigation, uniform and corroborated information has been received from several sources indicating that the pony sustained injuries from slipping and falling. Furthermore, the mentioned animals belonged to Yerevan resident A.K., who keeps them in a barn located in an area known as 'Dalma Gardens' along with other animals. The animals ended up in that area due to the owner's negligence, who, upon learning of the incident, arrived at the scene and removed them, taking them back to the aforementioned barn. Considering that the actions of citizen A.K. did not cause property damage or other harm to other individuals, the measures taken by the police based on the received report and their results were deemed sufficient by the territorial division.”
We previously reported that a horse and an injured pony were found abandoned in the streets of Yerevan. The pony that was hit on Isakov Avenue has unfortunately died.
