VIDEO: Fire in Warehouse Area Contained, Spread Prevented

On February 10 at 09:40, a call was received at the 911 call center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations regarding a fire in a warehouse area located at 47/2 Tbilisi Highway in Yerevan. At 09:41, firefighting units from the Yerevan Rescue Department were dispatched to the scene. The leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations also arrived at the site, including Deputy Minister and Colonel Kamo Tsutsulyan.

An operational headquarters was established. It was determined that the fire broke out in a 6000 square meter warehouse building, with no casualties reported. The fire was contained by 13:00. Preliminary data indicates that approximately 5000 square meters of the stored area, filled with goods, were burned. The spread of the fire has been prevented, and the evacuation of stored items was carried out.

The firefighting efforts involved the on-duty group from the Fire and Rescue Operations Organization Department, 16 firefighting units from the Yerevan Rescue Department and nearby regional rescue departments, 2 fire trucks, a gas smoke protection vehicle, the medical support department’s on-duty team, an operational group from the rescuers’ department, and a rescue unit from the Special Operations Rescue Center, along with the operational group of the Central Command and Control and a psychologist for psychological support.

Police officers and an ambulance brigade were on stand-by at the fire scene. Firefighting operations are still ongoing.
