Zelensky Awards Ousted Zaluzhnyi the Title of Hero of Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded Valerii Zaluzhnyi the title of Hero of Ukraine following his dismissal from the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Zaluzhnyi received this high honor for his "outstanding achievements in the protection of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country," as noted by the press service of the President of Ukraine.

According to the statement, the former high-ranking military official was also awarded the Order of the Golden Star.

The title of Hero of Ukraine has also been conferred upon the head of the Ministry of Defense's Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov.
