Russia-NATO Conflict Could Erupt in 3-5 Years, Says Denmark's Defense Minister
The military conflict between NATO and Russia could begin in the next 3-5 years, warned Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, as reported by Reuters.
“It cannot be ruled out that within three to five years Russia will test NATO’s Article 5 and the alliance's solidarity,” the military official stated, adding that the Kremlin has “the desire to do so.”
Poulsen noted that Denmark is unlikely to face a direct attack, but it may encounter threats from hybrid attacks launched by Russia.
In January, it was revealed that Germany is developing a war plan between NATO and Russia, which, according to the German Ministry of Defense's scenario, could commence in the summer of 2025. The most likely site for the conflict has been identified as the Suwalki Corridor between Belarus and the Kaliningrad region.
