Poland Responds to Putin's Statements

Poland is focused on practical steps to enhance its defense capabilities. The Republic's Minister of Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin's remarks about the absence of territorial claims against Poland. This information was relayed by TASS.

"We will do everything we can, preparing for different scenarios. Nothing can distract [our attention]: It is evident that such statements do not provide a calming effect but rather the opposite," stated the Polish minister at a press conference.

Putin, in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, claimed that all statements regarding a "Russian threat" represent "scare stories for the residents." According to him, Russia has "no interest in either Poland or Latvia - nowhere." In response to a question about the possibility of sending troops to Poland, the president replied that this could happen "only in one case – if there is an attack from Poland on Russia." The American journalist's publication, featuring statements from the President of the Russian Federation, garnered over 90 million views on X within just over 13 hours of being posted.
