For the First Time, We Interact with the Sigma as a State: Pashinyan

For the first time, the government has managed to exclude fishing for Sigma in Lake Sevan during the spawning season by at least 95 percent. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a cabinet meeting.

“Why am I saying 95 percent or more? Because during this ban period, 1-2 cases were still disclosed where fishing took place. This is the first time in the history of the Third Republic that such a thing is happening when this ban is actually being enforced,” Pashinyan said.

According to Pashinyan, all of this has happened thanks to the establishment and assistance of the Patrol Police. The Prime Minister noted that they plan to equip the water patrol police in Lake Sevan with new technology in 2024.

He stated that he would make a formulation that may sound strange: “For the first time, we are interacting with the Sigma as a state; this is a very important observation,” emphasized Pashinyan.
