Letter Correspondence Between Vardan Ghukasyan and His Mother Found with Artak Galstyan Says Vahan Avagyan
Vahan Avagyan, head of the 'Public Voice' faction and vice president of the 'Public Voice' party, has announced that they have not left the party and provided details about the ongoing processes within the party.
'First of all, let’s clarify that we have not left the 'Public Voice' party, and we did not write a request to suspend our membership. Regarding our statement, it was coordinated with the party president, currently a political prisoner Artak Galstyan, with the aim of exposing traitors within the party. Thus, the 'Public Voice' faction stands with its party and shares the same ideas.
As for today's session, I want to indicate the motivation: Vardan Ghukasyan has been involved in the processes that started with the 'Public Voice' party about a year ago, related to the detention of Artak Galstyan and his family. At this moment, I will only mention that Artak Galstyan has been slandered on the instructions of Vardan Ghukasyan, by his two sisters and two individuals sent from Russia by him to Artak. No one else.
Currently, Galstyan possesses the correspondence between Vardan Ghukasyan and his mother, Susanna Ghazaryan, where they clearly instruct the aforementioned persons to slander Galstyan and his family members. Vardan Ghukasyan's goal was singular: to isolate Galstyan and execute the 'sale' of the party to what is conditionally called the second echelon of the Karabakh clan. I will not name individuals at this moment; I will only say that the main beneficiary, according to our information, is the 'Armenian National Front'. But this is not all; Vardan Ghukasyan, fully realizing that he is the one fabricating false testimonies against Artak Galstyan, has proposed a deal to the authorities: keep Galstyan in custody, and the 'Public Voice' will do your bidding.
But you cannot keep an innocent person in custody forever. The first hysteria arose in Vardan Ghukasyan when Artak Galstyan’s wife was released. Now, Artak Galstyan’s case is in court, and a resolution is near. Now Vardan Ghukasyan believes that if the government does not fulfill his demands and does not keep Galstyan in custody, he will declare a boycott.
Why am I detailing this so much? So that society clearly understands that Vardan Ghukasyan's show is not for the benefit of the people; it has one aim: to keep Galstyan in custody, manipulate the public into believing he represents a serious force, and sell that political capital.
Artak Galstyan is our friend, and no one can harm him through us. The party has received the votes, which is best evidenced by the fact that after Vardan Ghukasyan's call, only eight people left the party, while 232 attended his invited congress, of which only 18 were party members. Moreover, the council is a political entity; we are not anyone's property, we operate within the framework of our electoral program and party ideology, which does not include blackmail or a boycott if Artak Galstyan is not kept in custody. This is, to put it mildly, a disgrace that we do not belong to and are against.
Now, as for our position, there is a law that, by the way, was adopted during the previous government's time; disrespectful absence results in the loss of that person's mandate. The same law has been functioning and still functions in the National Assembly. Let people justify that their absences are legitimate; we will vote against it. The council is, in this case, the registering authority - is the absence justifiable or not? That’s all for today. The rest will be addressed at the press conference,' he stated.
