If You Are Strong, Nobody Will Dare to Threaten You – Iranian Ambassador to Armenia

The balance of power in the region will bring peace. This was stated by the Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, while discussing Armenia's security and military balance.

In response to a question regarding the transit of Indian weapons through Iran to Armenia, the ambassador noted that Iran is in favor of strengthening and empowering Armenia.

“Any assistance that is necessary for Armenia and contributes to peace and stability in the region, we are ready to provide,” emphasized Sobhani.

He also addressed the threats from Azerbaijan against Armenia and made several observations.

“Why are you being threatened? If you are strong, would anyone dare to threaten you? I believe that the secret to not achieving peace lies in the lack of balance of power. If you are strong, nobody will dare to threaten you,” declared the ambassador.

According to him, in this regard, Iran considers its relations with Armenia to be strategic, and within this framework, there is a mutual understanding, as Iran believes that this flows from the security interests of the region.

When asked whether it is true that Iran wants a military presence in Syunik, the ambassador replied, “I would prefer not to respond to such rumors.”
