When You Play with Fire, It Can Turn into a Blaze at Any Moment: Fidan

The Israeli government prioritizes its territorial gains over security concerns, stated Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during a televised address, commenting on the ongoing incursions of the occupying army into the Gaza Strip.

“Israel is not falling behind on security. Israel wants more territory,” pointed out the head of Turkish diplomacy. Fidan emphasized that Israel will not be in real security as long as its government has not turned on the green light for the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Separately, the Turkish Foreign Minister addressed the prospects of increasing communication between the United States and Iran in the Middle East, amid ongoing exchanges of strikes. According to him, all parties must avoid escalating the scale of conflict. “The situation is not very good,” the minister noted.

At the same time, Fidan expressed confidence that the Biden administration's decision to carry out intense strikes on the positions of groups in Syria and Iraq, in response to the killing of its soldiers in Jordan, is a game with fire. “When you play with fire, it can turn into a blaze at any moment,” said the foreign minister, adding that the situation could spiral out of control at some point. “Here we are facing a risk. This issue of uncontrollability is a threat,” he stated.
