Michael Jordan's Sneakers Sold at Auction for Record Price
Former NBA player Michael Jordan's six pairs of sneakers have been sold at auction. They fetched a record price of $8.032 million from the buyer, according to AFP, citing Sotheby's auction house.
The collection featured basketball shoes worn by the athlete during pivotal games for NBA titles. Jordan won NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls in the years 1991-1993 and 1996-1998. He also left his autograph on four pairs of the sneakers.
Sotheby's declared that the price paid for the basketball star's shoes is "unlikely to ever be repeated." The identity of the buyer remains undisclosed.
