Governor of Turkey's Central Bank Resigns

The governor of Turkey's Central Bank, Hafize Gaye Erkan, has resigned, requesting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to approve her resignation. This was reported by TASS, citing the TRT television channel.

“At this moment, our economic program has begun to yield results. The increase in reserves, economic indicators, and inflation trends are evidence of this success. Despite these positive developments, as is known to the public, a major campaign has recently started against my reputation. To prevent this from affecting my family and my 1.5-year-old child in the future, I requested the president to relieve me of my duties, which I have carried out with honor since the first day of my appointment,” Erkan stated.
