Arshakyan Urges Business Leaders to Read Book by Detained Director of Synergy

Ashot Hovhannisyan has published a book titled "Uplift," where he discusses Armenia's journey towards digitization since the Soviet era. He stated, "We had the first digital healthcare system in the USSR, and I believe we were among the first in the world as well." This was mentioned today by Vice President of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan during the opening of a conference titled "Artificial Intelligence for Business" at the new building of the Matenadaran.

"The author of all these very important achievements for Armenia is Ashot Hovhannisyan, who, with numerous highs and overcoming challenges in his life, is now the founder and director of Synergy, a company that employs hundreds of individuals on the list of major taxpayers in Armenia. I would like us to welcome Ashot Hovhannisyan with applause. I urge all of you, especially representatives of business and youth, to definitely acquire and read Ashot Hovhannisyan's book 'Uplift,'" he said.

It was reported that Ashot Hovhannisyan, the founder and director of Synergy, was detained the day before.

It should be noted that two days ago, seven individuals were arrested at the Ministry of Economy, including Ani Isperyan, who was recently dismissed from the post of Deputy Minister of Economy. Ani Gevorgyan, the wife of National Assembly President Alen Simonian, was also detained.

After the arrests at the Ministry of Economy, several employees from one of the most well-known IT organizations, Synergy, were detained as well. It later became known that Ashot Hovhannisyan and Ani Gevorgyan were arrested.

Ashot Hovhannisyan, the founder and director of Synergy, is a dual citizen and also holds U.S. citizenship. He is the father-in-law of presenter Lusine Tovmasyan.

About a year and a half ago, Synergy participated in one of the tenders announced by the Ministry of Economy. Four companies participated, but the competition was canceled, and naturally, Synergy did not win. However, later the tender was awarded to Synergy. Perhaps this has raised suspicions among law enforcement agencies.
