This is another 'trap' that Russia has prepared for us. This was stated by Gagik Melkonyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Civil Contract Party, in an interview with NEWS.am, commenting on why Russia decided to fulfill its obligations and provide Armenia with weapons.

“For so many years, it did not supply the weapons we had pre-paid for. Russia, which is at war in Ukraine, what kind of weapons should it provide us? It should deliver us weapons from the 1980s, equipment that will not work today. While Azerbaijan is acquiring modern armaments, we are chasing after 1980s weapons,” the MP said.

“Russia is showing that they are ready to help Armenia. However, that assistance will come at a very high price for us. It will weigh heavily on the Syunik corridor. We need to be wise to navigate out of all these blows,” he added.
