Ukraine to Construct 4 New Nuclear Reactors This Year

Ukraine plans to begin construction on four new nuclear energy reactors this summer or fall. According to Reuters, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko stated that the country aims to compensate for the lost energy capacity due to the war with Russia.

Two of the reactors, along with associated equipment, will be based on Russian-manufactured components that Ukraine intends to import from Bulgaria. The other reactors will utilize Western technologies from the American company Westinghouse, which specializes in electrical energy equipment.
