Video: Trolleybuses in Yerevan Operate with Summer Tires, City Hall Clarifies

Trolleybuses operating in Yerevan are using summer tires. Armlur has published a video showing that the new trolleybuses are running on summer tires despite snowfall.

Drivers assert that the city hall claims they are being misunderstood. Trolleybuses in Yerevan are actually equipped with universal (all-season) tires designed for all weather conditions, according to the city hall.

“The trolleybus driver has disseminated incorrect information. In fact, for heavy vehicles such as trolleybuses, buses, and trucks, there is no distinction between 'winter' or 'summer' tires,” noted Taron Gevorgyan.

The information circulating online regarding the city trolleybus operating on summer tires does not correspond to reality and has emerged due to the driver's misunderstanding, as reported by the mayor's press secretary, Haik Kostanyan.

“The point is that for city transport, tires that meet international standards are used for all seasons of the year. This specific trolleybus has not yet exhausted the normative allowable resource of its tires,” he wrote.
