Yerevan’s Ambulance Service to Also Operate with Mopeds
In the near future, Yerevan’s Ambulance Service will also provide services using mopeds. This was stated by Davit Karapetyan, the acting head of the health department of the Yerevan City Hall, during a municipal operational meeting.
“We have work to do here—finding the appropriate specialists. They will provide services not in hospital settings for treatment cases but only in situations requiring first aid,” he said.
According to him, based on the Health Minister’s order regarding the standards for ambulance services, there is one vehicle planned for every 20,000 residents. “With an official population of 1,075,000 in Yerevan, we already need 53-55 vehicles; currently, we are operating with 43 vehicles. We have applied to the Minister of Health to increase our fleet,” Karapetyan noted.
