Video: A Meteor Explodes in the Sky Over Berlin
On the night of January 21, a small meteor exploded in the sky over Berlin. This was reported by Spiegel, citing Richard Moislin, a staff member of the European Space Agency who leads the division that protects the planet from meteorite impacts.
According to experts from the European Space Agency, the celestial body posed no threat to Earth. The meteor was first discovered by Hungarian astronomer Krisztián Sárneczki, who recorded it in Brandenburg on the evening of January 20. The diameter of the celestial body is estimated to be one meter.
Data from the Cambridge Minor Planet Center indicates that the meteor disintegrated at 1:32 AM German time, southwest of Berlin. A bright fireball appeared in the sky, which was also observed in Leipzig and Prague, as reported by Spiegel.
