Snow Falling, Blizzard Conditions: Several Roads Closed

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the Republic of Armenia. Until February 15, due to road repairs, the segment of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi, specifically between kilometers 38-40, will be closed for buses and heavy vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers. An alternate route will operate through the town of Noyemberyan.

In the Aragatsotn Province, the roads leading from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and K'ari Lake are closed.

Roads in the Ashtarak region are difficult to navigate for all types of vehicles. The roads in the Syunik Province, including the Vanadzor-Dilijan highway, the Vardenyats Pass (when chains are used), and the twists of Stepanavan and Spitak, are challenging for vehicles with trailers.

Snow is falling in Lori and Shirak provinces, in the Vardenyats Pass, the area called 'Meghri Mountain,' the Saravan-'Zanger' section, as well as in Jermuk, Berd, Dilijan, Chambarak, Sevan, Gavar, Hrazdan, Tsaghkadzor, and the regions of Gorayq, Aragats, and Aparan.

There are blizzard conditions in the Vardenyats Pass, Ashtarak, and Amasia regions.

According to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is closed for heavy vehicles.
