Investigations Launched into the Abduction of Yerevan Council Member Narine Hayrapetyan
An investigation has been initiated regarding the abduction of Narine Hayrapetyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the "Mother Armenia" coalition. This information was announced to Tert.am by Gor Abrahamyan, the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee.
"A criminal case has been opened under Article 191, Part 2, Subparagraph 5 of the Criminal Code for the abduction of a person by a group of individuals. A thorough investigation is currently underway to verify the data received from the preliminary investigation report. The police have also been tasked with obtaining and transferring to the prosecuting authority any relevant information and details significant to the investigation," Abrahamyan detailed.
It is worth noting that Shamshyan.com reported that on January 21, information circulated indicating that on January 15 at approximately 09:30, Narine Hayrapetyan (more widely known as Nare Sose), a resident of Yerevan, was forcibly placed into a vehicle by unknown individuals on Totovents Street, blindfolded, and subsequently taken to an unfamiliar location. There, she encountered a man aged 60-65, who engaged her in conversation regarding political activities. After this discussion, the same individuals returned her to Abovyan Street, where they released her from the vehicle and drove away.
Additionally, in connection with the incident, Manuk Sukiasyan, the head of the "Mother Armenia" faction in the Yerevan City Council, made a statement on his Facebook page, urging law enforcement to pay attention to the matter.
