Arsen Julfalakyan Will Compete Under the Flag of Another Country

Arsen Julfalakyan, an Olympic silver medalist and champion of both the World and European wrestling championships, has changed his sports citizenship. The news was announced by Arayik Baghdadyan, the Secretary General of the Armenian Wrestling Federation, in an interview with Armenpress.

"Arsen Julfalakyan has not competed under the Armenian flag for four years. He has made the decision to change his sports citizenship and will now compete under the flag of Argentina," he said.

Recently, Julfalakyan participated in the Grand Prix held in France under the Argentine flag and won a silver medal.

Julfalakyan has represented the Armenian national team in three Olympic Games: Beijing 2008, London 2012, and Rio 2016. It is noteworthy that Arsen Julfalakyan is a former member of parliament from the 'My Step' party and announced his retirement from sports in July 2021.
