Guterres Deems Unacceptable the Non-Recognition of Palestinians' Right to Statehood

The refusal to recognize the right of Palestinians to have statehood, as well as the decision on the creation of two states—Israel and Palestine—is unacceptable. This was stated by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, according to RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had indirectly hinted that a Palestinian state could not be established during his tenure, as Israel intends to ensure its security only under the condition of maintaining control over the Palestinian territories.

“The refusal to accept the decision to create two states for Israelis and Palestinians, as well as the denial of the Palestinian people's right to statehood, is unacceptable,” Guterres wrote on his X page. According to him, the Palestinian people's right to build their own state must be recognized by all.
