A statue depicting a naked woman resembling former German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been installed in front of the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, as reported by Bild.

The nude statue is perched atop a container. A local resident confirmed in an interview with the publication that city dwellers refer to the naked sculpture as 'Merkel,' as there is no doubt that it is portraying her.

Sven Hilshere, a representative of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party in Hamburg, deemed the statue's installation offensive, noting that the theater receives state funding. 'Many citizens are now deriving pleasure from insulting political figures. This contributes to a general disillusionment with politics and leads to a decline in its relevance,' he stated.
